Since yesterday, all new accounts created on the popular, free blogging platform “Blogger” are on the new version of the service. Blogger.com was perhaps the first service of its kind to introduce blogging to the masses and it has grown even more popular in recent years, since Google bought it in the year 2003. Since the acquisition, the platform has improved somewhat in functionality but not considerably so in performance, with service outages being a not so uncommon phenomenon.
This new version seems to be quite promising. I have always found Blogger somewhat limited as a blogging platform, but now finally making use of Google technology should bring great improvements in what many describe a complete make over.
Among the new features on Blogger Beta, is drag-and-drop template editing which includes easy placing of Google AdSense units. Also, post labels, and greater privacy controls. All in a more technically robust and powerful platform.
I’m curious to see how Blogger users make the best of the new goodies made available to them.
