Shortly after Sony’s announcement of a delay to the release of PlayStation 3 in Europe until later in 2007, Microsoft has hinted they may have to delay the release of their new operating system, Vista, in Europe as well.

Which leaves me wondering - is there an international plot to send Europe back to the dark ages?

Microsoft is blaming the European Commision of difficult to meet antitrust requirements. On the other hand, the European Commission is saying it is up to Microsoft, like any company which wishes to conduct business there, to meet the European Union’s competition rules.

Microsoft has been asked to pay hundreds of thousands of Euros in antitrust fines, yet it still shows great reluctance to complying with European Union business practice rules relating to competition.
