A new version of the popular WordPress blogging platform has been released to the public. Matt urges everyone to upgrade, as this version deals with serious security issues. To my knowledge, these included potential security risks to blogs allowing users to register on them. Dozens of bug fixes are also included, making WordPress even more powerful and fun to work with.
At this point I should extend my love and appreciation to everyone working on WordPress. An active community of developers, testers, documentation volunteers, who make it possible for the best part of the blogosphere to exist.
Upgrading was quite easy and moving from 2.0.3 to 2.0.4 didn’t even require any database changes as there are none between those two versions. Remember the golden rule of upgrading though - first backup everything, and then read the instructions here.
