Blackberry page at Amazon.comThere should be some kind of a universal agreement not to mess with people’s favorite gadgets. Canadian made Blackberry – the all in one solution for mobile, e-mail, organizer, etc, is facing a possible shutdown in the US! Why? Well, its the dreadful patent game again. Blackberry’s maker RIM is possibly facing a court ruling that could ruin their business along with the fun and communications of 3 million customers in the United States.

The patent breach claim was filled by the US company – NTP, who is inches away from singing the “Blame Canada” song.

The funny thing is that everyone in Washington must be using it, since the government has asked the court to hold off a possible shutdown ruling – which could create a communications blackout. Even if RIM and NTP don’t reach an agreement, RIM says they have work-arounds and software patches ready that would keep the service running in spite of any ruling against it.
