Ever thought the fries at McDonald’s tasted funny? Well guess what, they have admitted their fries contain milk and wheat ingredients. Withholding that information was not only unfair to consumers, but could also prove risky to people such as those with celiac disease who are now suing. And how about all the vegans out there, who thought fries of all things wouldn’t contain animal byproducts. (story link)
Playing Batman would be so much more fun if you could own an original costume. Umm, right? Soon, George Clooney’s costume from the 1997 “Batman and Robin” film will go on auction. Excited fans from around the world are expected to drive the price up to $100,000. Considering in many parts of the world it is Carnival season, I expect fools will rush in. (story link)
Are wild goats a pest you’d rather not have in your crops? A new scientifically designed repellent from Australia promises to send them packing. Along with rabbits and other pests which cause millions in damages annually. What is the secret of this repellent? You guessed it, it’s Tiger Poop (I don’t really know if it will be marketed as such). Developers claim the animals farmers would rather do without have the scent of the predator imprinted in memory and instinctively ran away from it. (story link)
Will that repellent drive wild migratory birds away as well? Because EU ministers are still debating, evaluating, and analyzing the risks of bird flu spread across Europe. I’m sure they could use some Tiger Poop on the table. (story link)
Meanwhile, Iran has not shown any signs of a possible intention to perhaps some time in the future seize playing with atomic research – aka nuclear weapons. So far, the diplomatic discussion has been, in the following form:
US, EU, Russia: Perhaps you would consider…
Iran’s Government: Noooooo!! I love my atomic energy “research” program. This is my country, I do what I want, get out, get out, get out, and take that filthy western music with you!!

Is that really true about McDonald’s? Jesus man, Coeliac runs through my family (on my mother’s side)… any time we consider take out, we’ll stop at McD’s to pick her up a fries… I guess not any more, thats pretty big news!
Hi, your blog looks better now, good work~
Well, I’m glad this story has at least come to the attention of one person who can benefit from the information. I see no reason to doubt the WSJ article. If they use the same recipe they use in the states in Ireland, maybe people will have grounds to sue there as well. You should check with your local consumers’ union / association Ken.
Ran, thanks for the positive feedback, hard work finally payed off eh?
I’ll have to look into it. I know there are some variations of their their ingredients for european markets, but I know people (through coeliac running my family) who have suffered a fair bit after eating their fries unknown to them that they shouldn’t really be doing it!
it will be interesting to see what happens out of it!
