A little optimism for the future of the world, life prevailing and everything. Guess what. A group of scientists in the jungles of Indonesia’s Pupua claim to have discovered a garden of “Eden” on earth.
Apparently, a safe haven for wildlife was located on the island, and in particular near the Foja Mountains. How exotic does that sound? I was very happy to hear about the new species (including fauna and flora) discovered, and those thought to be extinct which managed to somehow escape the fate mankind had predetermined for them.
Unfortunately, they didn’t hide well enough. I bet the Foja Mountains will soon become prime real-estate, and the place described as “untouched” by humans will soon have 5 star hotels in and around it. These scientists really need to learn how to keep their mouths shut, but on the other hand they also need to justify their funding.
Come on, we have put trash in outer space, how long do you think it will take us to build a road to “Eden”?
I only hope the Indonesian government will be sensitive and sensible enough about protecting this natural habitat, one of the few remaining on our little third rock from the Sun. Oh, and since you’re all hyped about protecting the environment right now, why not check out the official websites for Greenpeace, Conservation International and the WWF!
