And now the moment you’ve all been waiting for *drum-roll*, Podcast Wednesday returns to AllEver.com! OK I know today is Thursday, but from now on it will mostly fall on Wednesdays, so stay tuned!
And this first week’s Featured Podcast is:
Catalogue Of Ships
Life Catalogued. Then Re-Mixed.
A surprising, innovative, refreshing, creative and all around inspired approach to podcasting. Intriguing story telling with original sound and music. Professionally produced and created by the talented David Terry and Michael Kraskin. The show is described as:
“Sometimes funny, sometimes sad, always offbeat and refreshing in this quirky, thought provoking weekly podcast. Stories told by David Terry, remixed and scored by composer/sound designer Michael Kraskin, and listened to by you. Catalogue of Ships originated as a live performance in the American Living Room Festival at HERE in New York City in the summer of 2001.”
I was pleasantly surprised when I listened to it. The show strikes me like a combination of a theater play for radio, and audio art. A captivating listening experience indeed. And guess what! The creators are turning it into a participatory project, asking you to take part in the making of the Catalogue Of Ships podcast here. In Michael Kraskin’s own words “we are completely changing our concept for our second year, which will be all about global networking”.
Catalogue Of Ships could become the next big thing in podcasting. Among other recognition it has received, it has already been replayed on Chicago Public Radio, and is an “editor’s pick” at the Public Radio Exchange.
It has earned it’s place in my portable mp3 player, what a brilliant idea!
